In 2018 the acceptance of domestic abuse victims is rising. While this happens though, the public is openly ignoring forty-percent of these victims. According to Parity UK's Domestic Violence: The Male Perspective , over 40 % of domestic abuse cases are male. According to Statistics Canada , there are 627 abuse shelters for women and 0 for men. Yes, it is true that women have to face this problem more than men. These statistics are not being used to play down the severity or acceptance of female victims. These statistics are being used to show how society is not accepting an issue because they are male victims. In this article, I will be discussing the following: the myth that men are violent and can't be victims, and the current situation of shelter for men in Canada. There is a belief among the public that testosterone, the male hormone chemical makes you aggressive. However, out of "72 studies that measure aggressive behavior in both men and women. Media intake

Media Intake Luken Lake  January 22, 2018 My media intake has taken a drastic turn over the last couple years. When I was growing up my family would always have the news channel on our T.V., usually Global, CTV, or CHEK. Now I look for articles or statistics on how the media is fear mongering. This is often explicitly directed towards the country’s mass population. I still do try to listen to the radio or pick up the newspaper. Every news outlet was reporting on this, except they would avoid spending much/any time talking about the terror attacks happening in Libya or Egypt. It was hard to even find much info on the 43-people killed in Lebanon the day before the Paris attack. I tried my hardest at this time to not leap to the conclusion of conspiracy theories or other similar reasons to why they wouldn’...
